Known issues on the 2007 Impreza. Nine recalls are on the federal record for the 2007 Impreza. Several involve the front passenger air bag inflator: on certain 2007 Impreza vehicles sold or registered in certain states, long exposure to humidity and temperature swings can degrade the propellant until the inflator ruptures when the bag deploys, sending metal pieces into the cabin. Dealers fit a new inflator at no charge. Of 68 owner complaints, 27 cite air bags, 8 the engine and 8 the power train, with 7 on the electrical system; 6 complaints reported a crash, 2 a fire and 5 an injury.
