Known issues on the 2002 Impreza. Six recalls apply to the 2002 Impreza. Certain cars in WRX trim registered in certain states could leak fuel at the joint between the fuel delivery line and a rubber hose during very cold starts, a fire risk; dealers replaced the line. On certain wagons, rear gate stay studs torqued too lightly could let the inner panel crack after repeated use until the gate dropped. Certain cars built within a stated window and registered in certain states could have the front lower control arms corrode through at the hanger brackets and break. Owners filed 292 complaints, 88 on the gasoline fuel system and 56 on hydraulic brakes; 11 reported a crash. Fuel system and suspension procedures and specifications are included.
