Known issues on the 2005 MDX. Seven recalls are on federal record for this model year: four frontal airbag inflator recalls — three on the passenger side and one on the driver side — where an inflator rupture or explosion can send metal fragments into the driver or other occupants; an improperly manufactured fuel tank that could be damaged and leak fuel in a crash, which in the presence of an ignition source can burn; an antilock/traction control fault that can cause sudden inadvertent braking, especially without illumination of the brake lights; and a replacement accelerator pedal assembly that can bind, so the engine may not quickly return to idle. Owners have filed 244 complaints and Acura has issued 74 technical service bulletins for the year. This manual carries the factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind each of those systems.
From a scheduled service interval to an ABS fault or a supplemental restraint system diagnosis, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your 2005 MDX.
