Known issues on the 2004 S55 AMG. NHTSA filed five recalls against wider groups, four against the 2004 S-Class line and one against 2004 W220-chassis models. Certain S-Class line vehicles received incorrect software coding during a workshop visit, so the fuel pump might not get the crash signal that shuts it off. Certain vehicles had instrument clusters whose lighting could fail, and on certain others the ABC suspension's high-pressure line could rust internally, leak and pose a fire risk.
