2003 GMC Sierra 1500 HD Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2003 GMC Sierra 1500 HD covers a crew cab pickup in SLE and SLT trim with the 364-cubic-inch 6.0L V8 as its only engine, naturally aspirated, overhead-valve and gasoline-fed. That single specification keeps the lookups short: one set of engine mechanical figures, one set of driveline torque values, one wiring architecture, and diagnostic routines written for a truck that does not vary from one example to the next.

Known issues on the 2003 Sierra 1500 HD. Eight recalls stand on the federal record. Some trucks lack a continuous urethane bead bonding the windshield to the body, so the glass may not stay put in a crash. A brake hydro-boost housing machined with an out-of-specification relief valve bore could fracture the valve O-ring, raising the pedal effort needed to slow the truck. Rear lap belt routing could ride up onto the abdomen rather than the hips. Complaints number 573: 249 on the service brakes, 104 on the electrical system and 54 on steering.
