The 2.7L four (3RZ-FE) and the 3.4L V6 (5VZ-FE) carry their own torque sequences, clearances and service values, and the figures you work to are the ones Toyota published for the configuration in front of you.

Known issues on the 1997 T100. One recall is on federal record for this model year, and it covers the steering linkage relay rod. It applies to certain pickup trucks and sport utility vehicles on which the steering wheel is repeatedly turned under conditions where high steering effort and power assist are required. If the vehicle is continued to be operated in that condition, the relay rod may fracture. Owners have filed 90 complaints against the 1997 T100, and 20 technical service bulletins are on record for it.
Whether the job is a steering relay rod inspection, a scheduled service interval, or a fault traced through one of those bulletins, the procedure and the specification you work to are Toyota's own for the 1997 T100.
