This factory service and repair manual for the 1994 Mercedes-Benz S500 covers a V8-powered model offered two ways, as a 4-door sedan or a 2-door coupe. Both use the same engine, a 5.0L V8 with double overhead camshafts, breathing without a turbocharger or supercharger and running on gasoline. There is a single Base trim, and the manual gives procedures, specifications and torque values for both the sedan and the coupe.

Known issues on the 1994 S500. Four owner complaints name the 1994 S500, and the electrical system figures in all four; one also raised the air bags and one the seats. Twelve further complaints were logged against the wider 1994 S-Class line, again touching the electrical system, with one also citing the suspension. For that pattern the manual supplies wiring diagrams and electrical diagnostics, backed by restraint system and seat procedures and by suspension specifications with their torque values.
