1994 Ford Probe Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1994 Ford Probe is written for the Base, GT and SE trims of the two-door hatchback and for its two gasoline engines, both naturally aspirated with double overhead cams: the 2.5L V6 and the 2.0L inline-four of 122 cubic inches. Three trims on two engines is a manageable spread, and the book handles it by giving the 2.5L and the 2.0L their own procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics and then covering the hatchback body and chassis once, so the same reference serves any of the three trims.

Known issues on the 1994 Probe. Four recalls are logged for the 1994 Probe on the federal record. One is specific to the car: if the passenger-side air bag deploys with nobody in that seat, it can detach from and deform its mounting bracket, making a replacement air bag harder to install. The other three involve replacement parts, aftermarket fuel filters and lamps lacking amber side reflectors. Owners have lodged 209 complaints with NHTSA; service brakes lead at 41, with engine and engine cooling and the power train at 29 each. Air bag procedures, brake specifications and power train diagnostics for the 2.5L and 2.0L are the manual's relevant material.
IF THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THERE IS NO PASSENGER IN THAT SEATING POSITION, THE AIR BAG CAN DETACH FROM, AND DEFORM, THE MOUNTING BRACKET.
