Known issues on the 1990 Probe. Four recalls are on federal record for the 1990 Probe. Two cover the automatic shoulder belts, whose rail can wear until the cable that retracts the buckle jams and the belt stops working, on the driver and passenger sides; another covers throttle levers bent during assembly that may stick and not return to idle. Owners have registered 355 complaints with NHTSA, and 287 of them concern seat belts, with the electrical system and engine cooling at ten apiece.
