1993 Geo Prizm Service and Repair Manual

A roundly restyled Prizm appeared for 1993, longer than before, with more cabin and trunk space and a standard driver-side air bag. Sharing the new Corolla platform, the sedan came in Base and LSi trims; the 1.6L DOHC four-cylinder was standard, a new 1.8L DOHC four-cylinder was optional on the LSi, and the GSi was gone. Known issues on the 1993 Prizm. Two recalls are on federal record: an equipment recall (10E002000) covering Gabriel and ArvinMeritor replacement front strut mounts built without the weld between bearing housing and rate plate; and an air bag recall (96V107000) because liquid spilled in the console area can light the air bag warning lamp and risk an unintended deployment. NHTSA also logs 90 owner complaints, most often about air bags and visibility. Matching torque specifications and wiring diagrams in the manual help confirm these systems are right after service.
