Known issues on the 1992 Sundance. NHTSA filed 4 recalls against the 1992 Sundance. On certain 1992 Sundance vehicles the lower attaching bolt of the driver's seat back could fracture and come loose while driving, so dealers installed a higher-strength bolt. Certain 1992 Sundance vehicles were also recalled because the steering wheel's internal stamping could crack away from the hub on the steering column; cracked wheels were replaced and others reinforced with a plate. Owners filed 49 complaints, most often about the electrical system (9), air bags and suspension (7 apiece), and engine and engine cooling and seats (5 apiece). Of those, 7 reported a crash, 4 a fire and 5 an injury. Steering and electrical procedures are included.
