1992 Ford LT9000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1992 Ford LT9000 covers seven diesel engines, more than any previous year in this run. Two turbocharged and aftercooled inline-sixes are new, the 11.1L (677 cu in) and the 12.7L (774 cu in), and they join the 10.5L six-cylinder (638 cu in), the turbocharged 10.0L inline-six (611 cu in), the turbocharged 14.0L and 14.6L inline-sixes (855 and 893 cu in) and the 10.3L six-cylinder (629 cu in). Body styles stay at the medium-conventional tractor truck and straight truck in Base trim, so the procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for the aftercooled engines are the real addition.

Known issues on the 1992 LT9000. The 1992 LT9000 carries one recall and one owner complaint on the federal record. The recall concerns the fuel tanks: labels reminding operators to reopen the tank crossover valves before running the engine were omitted, and with the tanks more than half full, pressure could build in one tank until it ruptured and spilled diesel fuel, with a fire risk. The single complaint logged with NHTSA is about steering. The manual's procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics for the fuel system, the steering and the seven diesels are the sections that speak to both.
THE LABELS REMINDING OPERATORS CLOSING THE FUEL TANK CROSSOVER VALVES TO REOPEN THE VALVES BEFORE OPERATING THE ENGINES WERE OMITTED. IF THE TANKS ARE OVER HALF FULL AND VEHICLE OPERATION WAS RESUMED
