This factory service and repair manual for the 1992 Chevrolet Lumina APV has two engines to separate: the 189-cubic-inch 3.1-liter V6 and the larger 231-cubic-inch 3.8, both overhead-valve, naturally aspirated and gasoline-fueled. Two bodies are listed as well, a three-door mini passenger van and a three-door mini cargo van, in Base or CL trim. Displacement is the fork in the road for engine work here, and the fuel, ignition, cooling and torque specifications are given per engine rather than as one shared set.

Known issues on the 1992 Lumina APV. Two recalls stand against this year. One is a fire risk in the driveline: the transmission oil cooler line can separate when the van is worked hard in low temperatures, and spilled fluid on hot components has started vehicle fires. The other is a restraint fault, where the belt at the left third-row seat in the six-passenger van, or at the center second-row seat in the seven-passenger, locks in its retractor and cannot be drawn out to be used. Complaints total 84, with 29 on service brakes, 18 on seat belts and 13 on seats.
