1990 Chevrolet C3500 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1990 Chevrolet C3500 is defined by three body configurations and three V8s. The gasoline pair is the 7.4-liter of 454 cubic inches and the 5.7-liter of 350, both overhead-valve and naturally aspirated; the third engine is the 6.2-liter 379-cubic-inch diesel. That running gear went into a two-door standard cab pickup, an extended cab pickup or a cab and chassis, dressed as Cheyenne, Scottsdale or Silverado. Specifications, torque values and diagnostics are given for each engine rather than averaged across the three.

Known issues on the 1990 C3500. The federal record carries two recalls for the 1990 truck. Replacement fuel filters could seal badly where they connect, and leaking fuel near an ignition source raises a fire risk. Separately, the instructions supplied for adjusting the rear lap-shoulder belts were wrong, which would leave a belt adjusted as directed unable to hold an occupant in a sudden stop or collision. Five complaints are recorded, two of them about the service brakes and one each about the fuel system and the power train — brake hydraulics, fuel delivery and driveline work are all specified in this manual.
