Known issues on the 1985 LTL9000. The 1985 LTL9000 has one recall and one owner complaint on federal record. The recall is about identification: the hand throttle controls carried no label on the knob or the instrument panel, contrary to the federal standard on controls. The single complaint logged with NHTSA concerns latches, locks and linkages. Neither touches the engines, so the relevant sections are the manual's procedures, specifications and wiring diagrams for the throttle controls and for the latches, locks and linkages, with torque values and diagnostics for the five diesels and four chassis types alongside.
HAND THROTTLE CONTROLS WERE NOT IDENTIFIED EITHER ON THE CONTROL KNOB OR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS REQUIRED BY FMVSS 101.
