Once the transmission exceeds normal operating temperatures, reverse, 1st & 2nd gears exhibit abnormally harsh engagement, often with an audible thud and a physical impact felt by the driver and passengers. Everytime I put my car in reserve the brakes screech so long. I have noticed it on other Land Cruisers as well. I am fearful of something happening with the brakes. Safety is obviously a priority and I have not seen anything from Toyota on this.
