Known issues on the 2021 Suburban. Eight recalls sit on the federal record. A software fault can cut power steering assist at startup or while driving, leaving the wheel heavy at low speed. Rear driveshaft assemblies with improperly heat-treated internals can fail outright and take drive power with them. A fuel pump control module can make the pump quit or run intermittently, starving the engine and stalling it. Others concern seat and belt fasteners and a gateway module that mishandles a lost signal from the sensing module. Of 189 complaints, 61 name the engine and 34 the power train.
