Known issues on the 2016 Crosstrek. The federal record lists 1 recall for the 2016 Crosstrek. It concerns the brake light switch on certain vehicles: contamination can upset the switch so the brake lamps stay dark when the pedal is pressed, and on keyless-ignition cars the engine may refuse to start, while CVT or automatic models may stay locked in Park. Dealers fitted a new switch. Owners filed 134 complaints, led by the electrical system (38), power train (19), and engine and steering (14 each); 4 complaints reported a crash, 3 a fire and 1 an injury.
