2016 Chevrolet Sonic Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2016 Chevrolet Sonic covers a small car offered with more engine choice than its size suggests: three DOHC inline-fours, the naturally aspirated 1.6L of 98 cubic inches, the turbocharged 1.4L of 83 cubic inches and the 1.8L of 110 cubic inches on flex fuel or gasoline. Four trims, LS, LT, LTZ and RS, are sold in two four-door bodies, a sedan and a hatchback, and the chassis, restraint and body sections are common to all of them.

Known issues on the 2016 Sonic. Two recalls are on the federal record, both involving warning chimes the radio fails to sound. In one, nothing marks an unbuckled belt or a key left in the ignition; in the other, the chime is absent when the door is opened well after the ignition has been switched off. Owners have logged 48 complaints, the largest group on the electrical system at 11, followed by the air bags at 7 and the engine at 6. Wiring diagrams, module diagnostics and restraint procedures for those systems are set out here.
