Known issues on the 2013 CLS550. Of the three recalls for this year, the one most relevant under the hood involves a rubber seal at the rear of the engine bay on certain cars: it can cling to the hood as it opens, then drop onto exhaust parts when the hood shuts, creating a fire risk, and dealers add four retaining clips. Certain cars also had side sections of the LED tail lamps that might not illuminate, and certain vehicles had an emergency call system whose clock could drift from the real time, sending a wrong location. Four complaints are on record, one each for seat belts, the gasoline fuel system and the electrical system.
