This factory service and repair manual for the 2007 Mercedes-Benz CLS550 is built around a naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 of 333 cubic inches, a gasoline engine with its camshafts mounted overhead in a DOHC layout. The car is a four-door sedan, and one trim, Base, is listed. A large V8 without forced induction puts the focus on ignition, fuel delivery and valvetrain work, and the specifications and torque values for those jobs are set out here together with wiring diagrams and diagnostics.

Known issues on the 2007 CLS550. The federal record holds four recalls for the 2007 CLS550 and the roof glass is at issue in them. On certain cars the adhesive holding the glass panel to the sliding roof frame can break down, and in related campaigns the glass sunroof panel on certain vehicles may not be fixed securely; either way the glass could come off and land in traffic. Dealers inspect the bonding and replace the panel or the sliding roof as needed. Fuel delivery dominates the 34 complaints, with 17 under fuel/propulsion and 8 under the gasoline fuel system. Sliding roof and fuel system procedures are covered.
