Known issues on the 2012 Venza. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year. The first is an electrical system campaign covering certain 2012-2013 Avalon, Avalon HV, Venza, Camry and Camry HV vehicles, in which the drain hose for the air conditioning condenser may become clogged; a short circuit may cause the air bags to become disabled or inadvertently deploy. The second, from Southeast Toyota Distributors, concerns the frontal air bag sensor and control module, specifically the front passenger seat occupant sensing system, which may be out of calibration. The third covers the side curtain air bags on certain 2009-2015 Venza vehicles: the Supplemental Restraint System wiring may become damaged with regular use, and damaged wires may cause the air bag sensor to become inoperable, preventing deployment. The fourth is a labeling recall, in which an inaccurate label could lead to owners overloading their vehicles and tires. Owners have filed 34 complaints for the year and Toyota has issued 118 technical service bulletins.
