Known issues on the 2012 S550. Two recalls apply to the 2012 S550. In certain cars assembled from April 18 to July 12, 2011, the fuel filter's flange could crack under hot operating conditions because of a molding irregularity, leaking fuel that could catch fire if it met an ignition source. Certain cars assembled from March 3 to July 30, 2011 were covered for a tire pressure warning that could fail to relight on later drives if every wheel sensor had quit. Of five owner complaints, the engine and fuel system are each cited 3 times and 1 complaint reported a fire; the 2012 S-Class line drew 1 further complaint, about the power train.
