Certain 2012 CX-7 vehicles sold or registered in certain states were recalled because the passenger air bag inflator could rupture after its propellant degraded, and owners were told not to drive until it was replaced. In another, salt-laden water could corrode a front ball joint on certain vehicles built within a specified production period until it came away from the lower control arm, a steering hazard; the planned remedy replaces both front lower control arms. Suspension leads the complaints at 14 and air bags follow at 12; 4 reported a crash and 2 an injury.
