On certain 2007 CX-7 vehicles built within a stated production window, salty water could enter the front ball joints and corrode them until a joint separated from the lower control arm, and steering could be lost; the remedy replaces both front lower control arms. Another covered certain vehicles whose passenger inflator could rupture once long exposure to humidity and temperature cycling had degraded its propellant, and owners were told not to drive until it was replaced.
