Known issues on the 2011 CX-7. For the 2011 CX-7 the record shows 4 recalls, and owners have added 153 complaints. A front ball joint on certain 2011 CX-7 vehicles built within a specified production period could corrode from salty water until it separated from the lower control arm, risking loss of steering control; the remedy replaces both front lower control arms. In certain vehicles sold or registered in certain states, the passenger air bag inflator could explode once its propellant degraded, and owners were told not to drive until it was replaced.
