Every torque figure, clearance and diagnostic step in this 2012 Lexus GX 460 service and repair manual is tied to the truck Lexus actually built that year, down to the 4.6L V8 (1UR-FE) and the trim listed below, so nothing here is a close-enough value carried over from an adjacent model year or a different engine.

Known issues on the 2012 GX 460. Three recalls are on federal record for this model year, and all three concern the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module. The first covers vehicles whose driver or passenger frontal air bag inflators had already been replaced under an earlier recall using inflators of the same design; an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants, resulting in serious injury or death. The second is another passenger-side inflator campaign, covering one group of vehicles sold, or ever registered, in the states it designates Zone A and a further group of vehicles beyond that zone; the consequence on record is the same, an inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death. The third names the 2012 GX 460 among vehicles originally sold, or ever registered, in the campaign's Zone A states, and extends to additional vehicles outside that zone; an inflator rupture may result in metal fragments striking the vehicle occupants resulting in serious injury or death. Owners have filed 11 complaints for the year, and no technical service bulletins are on record for it. The diagnostic and repair procedures behind that system are here.
Whether it is an air bag and restraint check, a scheduled maintenance interval or a repair on the 1UR-FE V8, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for this 2012 GX 460.
