Known issues on the 2010 E550. Three recalls filed by NHTSA name the 2010 E550. Two reached certain coupe versions sold or ever registered in a listed set of states and territories, California, Florida and Texas among them, where the passenger air bag inflator could burst and throw sharp metal pieces. The third covered certain 2010 E550 vehicles whose driver air bag inflator could split open during a deployment. Apart from those, NHTSA filed one recall against the 2010 E-Class line for certain vehicles that could lose power steering fluid, so dealers retightened a connection fitting.
