Known issues on the 2009 ML63 AMG. Three recalls name the 2009 ML63 AMG. The first two apply to certain vehicles at risk of brake booster housing corrosion from trapped moisture, with owners told not to drive until the booster was inspected. The third applies to certain vehicles whose driver frontal air bag inflator could rupture during deployment and scatter metal pieces. Separately, NHTSA filed a recall against the 2009 M-Class line for certain vehicles equipped with the optional power liftgate, where water getting past a tail lamp seal could short the liftgate control unit and start a fire. Of three owner complaints on this model year, 1 reported a crash. Brake and air bag procedures and body wiring diagrams are covered.
