Known issues on the 2009 TSX. Four recalls are on federal record for this model year, and all four concern the passenger-side frontal air bag inflator module: an inflator explosion that can send sharp metal fragments into the driver or other occupants, two separate inflator ruptures that can send metal fragments into the occupants, and an incorrectly installed inflator that may not properly deploy the passenger frontal air bag in a crash. Owners have filed 113 complaints with NHTSA and 35 technical service bulletins have been issued for the year. The factory diagnostic and repair procedures behind those systems are here.
From a routine service interval to an SRS fault code or a hard-to-trace wiring problem, it keeps you on the OEM procedure and the correct specification for your specific 2009 TSX.
