2008 Chevrolet C5500 Kodiak Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 2008 Chevrolet C5500 Kodiak is made up of six order codes, four bodies and two engines. The engines are the 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel of 403 cubic inches and the naturally aspirated 8.1-liter gasoline V8 of 496; the bodies are the two-door conventional cab and chassis, the crew cab and chassis, the cutaway chassis and the motorhome cutaway. What ties them together is a common frame and driveline, and that is where most of the specifications and torque values apply.

Known issues on the 2008 C5500 Kodiak. Five recalls sit on the federal record for this year, all concerning equipment fitted to the chassis by others. Two cover wheelchair lifts whose roll stop latches bend or drift out of alignment, so an occupant can ride over the barrier and fall from a raised platform. A third involves an interlock diode that fails under voltage spikes and leaves the truck drivable with a lift deployed. A battery isolator cable pressed against cooling fins can short and overheat into a fire. One complaint, on the service brakes, matches a system fully specified here.
