Known issues on the 2006 Milan. Five recalls stand on the federal record, and most concern the restraint system. Propellant in the driver's air bag inflator can degrade after long exposure to heat and humidity and rupture on deployment, throwing metal fragments into the cabin; two further recalls describe that same rupture risk on the passenger side. Valves in the anti-lock brake hydraulic control unit can react with certain brake fluid additives and fail to close, lengthening pedal travel. An accessory floor mat can shift into the accelerator pedal and hold the throttle open. Air bags dominate the 214 complaints at 125, ahead of structure at 20.
