2006 Isuzu Ascender Service and Repair Manual

The 2006 Ascender gained StabiliTrak stability control, and its 4.2L inline-six was uprated to 291 horsepower. Isuzu simplified the range to an S model with an LS upgrade, sold in five- and seven-passenger form, and the 5.3L V8 with Displacement on Demand remained available on the longer version. It was also the last year for both the V8 and the third row. Known issues on the 2006 Ascender. Six recalls are on federal record. They include a power steering hose that could fracture and leak under extreme steering while braking, tire and loading labels printed with an incorrect vehicle capacity weight, and a headlamp driver module that may overheat and leave the headlamps and daytime running lights dark. Three further campaigns deal with fluid entering the driver's door module or master window switch, which can corrode the circuit board, disable the power locks and windows and, in the worst case, overheat and start a fire.
