2005 Isuzu Ascender Service and Repair Manual

Displacement on Demand is the headline for the 2005 Ascender. The optional 5.3L V8 became the LH6, which shuts down four cylinders under light load to save fuel, while the 4.2L inline-six stayed standard. Trims were S, LS and Limited across five- and seven-passenger bodies. Because the V8's cylinder-deactivation hardware and wiring differ from the earlier LM4, the right-year reference matters. Known issues on the 2005 Ascender. One recall is on federal record. It concerns the windshield urethane bead, which may not have bonded to the body in places during curing, so the glass might not meet the windshield-mounting standard.
