This factory service and repair manual for the 2006 Chevrolet Uplander covers a wider range than the first year: two pushrod V6s, the 237-cubic-inch 3.9L and the 213-cubic-inch 3.5L, both naturally aspirated, and three body configurations, since a four-door mini cargo van joins the four- and five-door passenger vans. Known issues on the 2006 Uplander. Four recalls are recorded. One covers a replacement steering knuckle that can fracture in the hub area and cost the driver steering control without warning. Another covers a rear trailing arm modification left inadequately welded on converted vans, which can wear its bushings, fracture and part the rear axle from the chassis. Two others concern tire and loading labels that were missing or misprinted, so the van could be run on the wrong rims or overloaded. Complaints reach 158 — electrical 30, steering 26, structure 20.
