This factory service and repair manual for the 2005 Ford GT is written for a two-door coupe with a single specification: one Base trim and one engine, the supercharged 5.4L V8 of 330 cubic inches with dual overhead camshafts. There is no variant to look up, so the whole book, from engine and drivetrain through suspension and brakes to body and electrical systems, describes the same car. Procedures, specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics all refer to that supercharged V8 and the chassis built around it.

Known issues on the 2005 GT. Four recalls are on federal record. Three of them concern frontal air bag inflators, on the driver and passenger sides, that may rupture in a deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin, one of the three a regional campaign for cars in humid climates. The fourth covers upper and lower control arms with casting imperfections at their ends that may lead to a fracture and affect handling. Owners have filed four complaints with NHTSA, one each on the air bags, engine cooling and the power train. Restraint and front suspension procedures are covered here.
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE UPPER AND LOWER CONTROL ARMS MAY HAVE CASTING IMPERFECTIONS AT THE END OF EACH ARM THAT MAY RESULT IN THE ARM FRACTURING.
