Known issues on the 2005 Stratus. NHTSA has recorded 3 recalls for the 2005 Stratus. Certain 2005 Stratus sedans, 26,354 of them, could have a right steering knuckle damaged during its manufacture, so it might crack and come away from the upper control arm; dealers inspected and replaced it. Certain 2005 Stratus sedans, 8,000 in number, may have been built with rear outboard seat belt retractor and turning loop bolts under-tightened, which dealers corrected. Owners lodged 65 complaints, with suspension at 18, engine and engine cooling at 14 and steering at 13; 14 of them reported a crash, 8 an injury and 2 a fire.
