Known issues on the 2004 Sierra 3500. Eight recalls are on the federal record. On the 8.1L V8, a fuel rail pulse damper retainer clip can fracture and let the damper come loose, allowing fuel to leak. Two brake items follow: a hydraulic booster accumulator that can crack and separate from the hydro-boost assembly, and a relief valve bore built out of specification whose seal can fracture and raise pedal effort. Owners have filed 582 complaints, 196 on service brakes, 153 on the electrical system and 45 on steering.
