Known issues on the 2004 C8500. No recall stands against this model year, and NHTSA lists no owner complaints. Coverage is what remains to judge, and it is thorough. All three engines are documented with overhaul and adjustment procedures, specifications and torque values, and with diagnostics for their fuel and control systems. The chassis half of the book covers frame, driveline, brake, steering and suspension work, and the wiring diagrams take in both the conventional cab and the crew cab, so a circuit can be followed end to end on either truck.
