Known issues on the 2001 Suburban 1500. Eight recalls are on the federal record. One covers loose or missing rear wheelhouse plugs, which let exhaust gas collect and work forward into the cabin. Another describes fuel pump wiring connectors that overheat, blowing the pump fuse and leaving the engine stalled or unable to start. A third involves unwanted anti-lock activation, most common where roads are salted, which lengthens low-speed stops. Complaints run to 577: 182 on the service brakes, 70 on the fuel system and 45 on the parking brake, each covered by its own procedures.
