Known issues on the 2000 Contour. Seven recalls are logged against the 2000 Contour. One covers an incorrect childproof lock label on the driver-side rear door, so an owner could believe the lock was set when it was not. Another concerns seat belt buckle bases not properly heat treated, which may not restrain an occupant in a crash. A third involves cars built with a mismatched power brake booster and master cylinder. Owners have filed 252 complaints with NHTSA, most on the structure at 67, the fuel system at 34 and the electrical system at 26.
