1996 Ford LTS9000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1996 Ford LTS9000 documents the medium conventional tractor and straight truck in Base trim with eight diesel engines behind them. The 10.5L and 10.3L six-cylinders are the two without turbochargers; the 10.0L, 14.0L, 14.6L and 10.8L inline-sixes are turbocharged; and the 11.1L and 12.7L inline-sixes are turbocharged and aftercooled. Nothing in that list is interchangeable with anything else in it, so specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostics are given separately for each engine.

Known issues on the 1996 LTS9000. No recall has been issued for the 1996 LTS9000 and no owner complaints appear in the NHTSA record. That absence shifts the manual's usefulness entirely to service work: fuel injection and delivery across eight diesels, charge-air and cooling procedures for the turbocharged and aftercooled engines, lubrication and clearance specifications, torque values for reassembly, and wiring diagrams to work through with the diagnostics.
