1985 Ford LTS9000 Service and Repair Manual
This factory service and repair manual for the 1985 Ford LTS9000 works across five diesel engines in the medium conventional tractor and straight truck, both Base trim. Three turbocharged inline-sixes are listed, the 10.0L, 14.6L and 14.0L, with the 9.0L V6 and 7.0L inline-six filling out the lighter end of the range without turbochargers. Each engine gets its own specifications, torque values, wiring diagrams and diagnostic sequences, which is the only sensible arrangement when displacements run from 426 to 893 cubic inches.

Known issues on the 1985 LTS9000. One recall stands on the federal record for the 1985 LTS9000. It covers hand throttle controls that were not identified on the knob or the instrument panel as the controls and displays standard requires, the remedy being a throttle label applied at or beside the control. One owner complaint is logged with NHTSA, and it concerns latches, locks and linkages. Both point at the same corner of the truck, and the manual's linkage procedures, wiring diagrams and diagnostics cover it.
HAND THROTTLE CONTROLS WERE NOT IDENTIFIED EITHER ON THE CONTROL KNOB OR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AS REQUIRED BY FMVSS 101.
