This factory service and repair manual for the 1990 Chevrolet Camaro pairs the Iroc-Z and RS trims with two bodies, a two-door convertible and a two-door coupe, and three naturally aspirated overhead-valve gasoline engines: the 5.0L V8 of 305 cubic inches, a 3.1L V6 of 189 and the 5.7L V8 of 350. The V6 and the two V8s differ enough that fuel, ignition and cooling specifications are given for each rather than shared, while suspension, brake and body procedures serve the whole range.

Known issues on the 1990 Camaro. The federal record holds five recalls for this year. One is a fuel return hose that can break at either crimped coupling and drop gasoline into the engine compartment. Two others involve replacement service parts, an oil filter that can fail to seal and a fuel filter connection that can leak, and a fourth covers lamps sold without amber side reflectors. Belt buckle plastic that grows brittle in sunlight closes the list. Owners logged 28 complaints: air bags at seven, the fuel system at five, engine and cooling at four, each with its own diagnostic routine here.
