Known issues on the 1997 Camaro. Six recalls sit on the federal record. The one traced to assembly is a front seat belt retractor mounted out of its design position, which can lock the belt on slopes gentler than the federal standard allows. Four others cover aftermarket corner and bumper lamps that fail the federal lighting requirement, and the last replacement oil filters that can leak.
