1989 Eagle Summit Service and Repair Manual

Known issues on the 1989 Summit. One recall is recorded for the 1989 Summit. It covered certain 1989 Summit vehicles fitted with Takata-made safety belts, where the front buckle release button could crack and let broken bits fall into the buckle so it no longer latched or released properly; owners were asked to check both front buckles and have a dealer repair or replace a faulty one. NHTSA also holds 12 owner complaints, 8 of them about seat belts and 2 about engine and engine cooling. Two complaints reported an injury, 1 a crash, 1 a fire and 1 a death.
