Known issues on the 1988 G1500. Two recalls touch this model year, and both concern replacement service parts rather than the van as built. One covers aftermarket fuel filters that sealed poorly at the connection and could let fuel escape, with a fire risk in the presence of an ignition source. The other covers aftermarket oil filters that could seal inadequately and lose engine oil, again with fire as the consequence. A single owner complaint, on engine cooling, is on record. Fuel line routing, filter service and lubrication specifications are all documented here.
