Known issues on the 1986 C15. One recall is on the federal record, and it is an electrical one: the push-pull headlight switch can develop intermittent contacts, so the headlights flicker or drop out without warning and leave a driver without light at night or in heavy weather. Owners have added five complaints, all of them on the fuel system. Both areas are documented here, with switch and lighting circuit diagrams and continuity checks on one side and fuel pump, line and tank procedures with their test values and torque figures on the other.
THE PUSH PULL HEADLIGHT SWITCH MAY HAVE ELECTRICAL CONTACTS WHICH ALLOW AN INTERMITTENT HEADLIGHT CIRCUIT CAUSING HEADLIGHT TO FLICKER OR SUDDENLY GO OUT.
Remedy
REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWITCH AS NECESSARY.
