This factory service and repair manual for the 1983 Chevrolet C20 is a heavy-duty book: four body configurations, six engines and three trims. Known issues on the 1983 C20. One recall is on the federal record for this year, and it concerns replacement equipment rather than the truck itself: an oil filter that can seal poorly, allowing engine oil to escape with fire the consequence named. One owner complaint, on seat belts, is the only other entry. For a truck configured this many ways the manual's value is its reach — lubrication and oil pressure specifications, belt anchorage torque, and the frame, driveline and brake procedures a cab and chassis or crew cab needs as much as a pickup does.
