This manual is written for the 2024 Audi R8, the final model year of the car and the last of Audi's naturally aspirated V10 road cars. It covers what makes a run-out car its own proposition to work on: two listed engine codes for the same 5.2L V10, all-wheel-drive and rear-drive versions that share a body but not a front driveline, and coupe and Spyder structures with different reinforcement and different access to the back of the engine.
Engine
- 5.2L V10 (DKAC) Gas
- 5.2L V10 (DKAA) Gas
Trims
- Performance Convertible 2-Door
- Performance RWD Coupe 2-Door
- Performance RWD Spyder Convertible 2-Door
- Performance Coupe 2-Door
- Performance Spyder Convertible 2-Door
The trim and engine list is carried from the adjacent 2023 model year, the closest match available. Final-year cars were built in small numbers against a shrinking order sheet, so a 2024 car's badge and its quoted output can differ slightly from the 2023 equivalent. Identify the engine code stamped on your car before ordering, because parts catalogs split several engine-bay components between DKAC and DKAA.
Known issues on the 2024 R8. No recalls are on federal record for this model year. No complaints are logged with NHTSA for this model year. For a final-year, low-volume car that is the expected picture, and it means the service history you build yourself is the only history this car will ever have. The work that pays here is preventative: twin-clutch gearbox fluid on interval rather than on symptom, dry-sump oil level checked to the procedure with the engine at temperature rather than judged by eye, coolant condition along a long front-to-rear circuit, and brake fluid on time, which matters more on cars specified with carbon-ceramic rotors where pad bedding and even transfer decide whether you get judder. Rear-drive versions run a different stability calibration and lean on the rear tires harder, so alignment and tire wear deserve their own inspection interval. Cars that sit, and many of these do, collect stored fault codes, dried damper and pump seals and flat-spotted tires; wake them methodically instead of trying to drive the faults out.
Because 2024 closes the model out, there is no later year to borrow a procedure from and no revised successor part to fall back on, which is precisely why year-correct documentation is worth having: removal and installation order, tightening sequences, wiring layouts, capacities and intervals for the 2024 R8 as it left the line.
